The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Harold Vala can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Reminiscing

Dear Uncle Harold, I have so many wonderful memories of you throughout my life: Going to visit you in Mt. Vernon and banging on the pipes; times spent in Stormville where I learned to ride a bike without training wheels; watching the paratroopers jump out of planes and land in the cow pastures; listening to your ditty "Bobby ran away with the outhouse door"; the miniature golf & burger stand in Hopewell Junction; you and your Great Dane dogs (Fritz & Dino); and all the weekend get togethers with music, songs, and dancing. When I was old enough to go to bars, I would go listen to you play your country music with friends and family and even met my husband at one of your venues! Once married you would come and play your music at our barbecues. I will always remember you with your smiling eyes, a guitar in your hands and singing a tune. Heaven just got a little more country! Dear Aunt Maureen, Diane and Jackie, We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I'm just going to end with this quote from Helen Keller - "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Harold will always be a part of you. With heartfelt sympathy, Val and Mark
