Doyle Ray "also known as "D.R." & "Bluefish Nut" "  Roberts
Doyle Ray Roberts, 79, of White Plains, NY departed this life on June 10, 2014 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, NY after a courageous l0 year battle with prostate cancer.

He was born March 16, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Doyle Roberts and Rosa Lee (Alford) Rucker. He leaves his step-"Mom" Evelyn (Selby) Roberts.

Doyle graduated from White Plains High School in 1953 and attended Syracuse University. He served in the U.S. Army which allowed him to travel throughout Europe and it was then that he discovered his love of photography, a hobby he enjoyed. He received the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1960.

In 1990, after 33 years, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Manager of Accounting and Reporting Systems at the Sanford Blvd. location in Mt. Vernon, NY. He subsequently opened D & R Income Tax Service which he operated until his illness.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 51 years, Barbara (Hudson) Roberts, son Donald (Deandrea) Roberts of Salina, KS, daughter Adrienne (Chris) Wood of Douglasville,GA, grandchildren; Adrianne, Alexandra, Aaliyah, Derrick Roberts, Kristina & Lauren Wood, sister, Arlene (Ronnie) Blackwell, brother, Richard Roberts and treasured nieces & nephews;Genevieve, Giselle & Gabrielle Roberts, their mother Guylaine Charbonneau, Ronnie and Ricky Blackwell. A dear aunt, Mary Williams and special cousins Mattie Lee Hamilton, Gwen Trotter, Jackie Roberts & Marshall Jones.

Also, beloved family in Oklahoma & Texas.

The "Bluefish Nut" also known as "D.R." leaves his fishing buddies and race track friends to continue his two favorite pastimes.

In Lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Bronx VA Hospital, American Cancer Society or place a bet on your favorite horse.
