Age 98, died at Phelps Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Born on June 5, 1921 in Norfolk Virginia. Came to Greenburgh, New York during childhood. Educated in the Greenburgh school system. Married and settled in Greenburgh and Elmsford through her senior years. Due to illness, she moved to a nursing home in Croton, NY.
Survived by her daughter, Zora Horsham and granddaughter, Yvette Griffith of Elmsford, NY.; good friend Constance Battle of White Plains, NY.; sister-in-law Jaunita Statton of Huntington, NY.
Pre-deceased by husband, Joseph N. Griffith; son, Joseph W. Griffith; mother, Laura Crawford and many relatives and friends.
Virginia worked briefly and resigned to caring for her family. She liked knitting, reading and gardening.
Interment was held at Kensico Cemetery in Vahalla, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Lee’s Funeral Home of White Plains, NY.
A memorial service may be announced at a later date.

Though any possible memorial service is still pending, please still leave condolences now herein on the Memory Wall to express your sorrow, share your memories, and as an expression of sympathy & way to communicate with/offer comfort to the family, that they and others may see, and may be a lasting tribute her honor.
As private services have already been held, NO flowers should be sent to the funeral home. In LIEU of flowers, you may choose to plant a tree, and/or a contribution may be made in her name/memory/honor to any ASPCA &/or any animal organization benefiting animals. Thank You!
