Andre de Leon, a longtime Greenburgh resident, most recently of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of April 6th, 2023.
Andre was born in Beaufort, South Carolina on June 11, 1975, to Angelo Perri and Michelle Jenkins de Leon Parker. In addition to his parents, he leaves to mourn his passing; his stepfather Leon Parker; his brothers Leon Jr., Brian, and Jason; his sisters Crystal and Tara; sisters-in-law Ayeshah and Adriana; brother-in-law Davon Heathington; nieces and nephews: Eva, Leia, Anastasia Robinson , Sequoia Robinson, James Robinson Jr., Cairo, Naomi, Aizen, Rogue, Danilo, Damiano Parker, and Christian Heathington, and a host of other family and friends.
Andre was raised in Greenburgh and graduated from Woodlands High School, in Hartsdale, New York where he was on the wrestling team, played football, and made many lifelong Friends.
Andre had several jobs throughout his adult life but the one he was most proud of was the company he created, “Air Quality Solutions Environmental.” Andre was a true salesman. He could talk you into buying almost anything from ladies’ shoes, to cars, to mold restoration with lots of gab and a great smile.
Andre was a vibrant soul who took on many passions. One of which included music. He had incredible artistic talent. He found comfort and peace in writing, capturing the raw nature of life and using it to express himself. He loved spending time in the outdoors especially fishing and riding his bike. Andre loved to cook and was well known for treating you to his fried fish, seafood, and collard greens, whenever the occasion presented.
Andre’s personality, shall we say, had the tendency to “suck all the air out of the room.” Yet, you found yourself captured by how special he made you feel. Andre loved to talk. He would call after a long lap of time just to let you know he was thinking about you. If needed, he was always willing to lend a hand. Andre was special. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed by many.
