Obituary for Gladstone "Teddy" Reid

Gladstone Reid transitioned peacefully from this life on September 13, 2022, at Martine Center Nursing Home in White Plains New York. Gladstone was born in Falmouth, Jamaica on January 19, 1935, to Carmen Johnson and Felix Reid.

Gladstone worked in Falmouth Parish Council for several years as a social worker. He later migrated to the United States in 1962 with his brothers Victor Nicholas and Fernandito Reid.

Gladstone was a person of faith and lived a life serving others. He found comfort in America with the Grace Church Choir. He was an active member from the mid 1970s to the 2000s. He had a passion for playing the piano and organ, and would take any opportunity to show his natural talent free of charge, from the heart. When he wasn't playing at the church, he was working at White Plains Hospital. Within the 32 years of being at the
hospital, Gladstone became an Offset Printer, Mail Clerk and a Supervisor. He dedicated his time to make sure everything at work was efficient and feasible for his peers.

Although his highlight was playing the piano, Gladstone had many hobbies. Mr. Reid enjoyed cooking for his wife and family, watching boxing, Jeopardy, and he loved the History channel. In his free time he enjoyed
bowling with his co-workers from the hospital.

Gladstone Reid is survived by his loving wife Elaine Reid; daughter Lorraine Babeu, son Bryan Reid; grandson Andres Babeu, granddaughter Inza Martinez; nieces Cara and Tiffany Nicholas; nephew Damon Nicholas; and many dear and precious family members and friends.

Gladstone Reid was and is a blessing to this world, and his legacy will surely live on. His loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. May he rest in Eternal Peace.
