Obituary for David "Baby Jr." Egleton Jr.

Mr. David Egleton Jr. was born on December 9, 1946, to the late David Egleton Sr. and the late Gladys Green Egleton. David departed his earthly journey on August 3, 2022.

David affectionately known as “Baby Jr” retired from the United States Postal Services after serving more than 35+ years. He was an active member of Community Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Praise Team and Trustee.

David will be remembered for his love of wrestling, singing on the Praise Team, dressing up (Best Dresser) and enjoying life to the fullest. David also spent most of his time thinking he was a meteorologist. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and never met a stranger. David had the kindest spirit and loved to make people laugh.

David is predeceased in death by his wife Carol Egleton, parents, brother: Frank Egleton (Ethel), sisters: Mamie Davis (Cecil), Jessie Mae Davis and Nellie Green (Willie)

David is survived by two daughters Lorreen Bracey and Tonya Craig (Gregory) both of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters Lashanda Egleton and Allayah Bracey, five great granddaughters Xyla, Xoriah, Xena, Zeniah and Zoni all of White Plains, New York; One brother William Egleton (Janice); Two sisters Wilhelmina Johnson and Mildred Greg (King); He also leaves behind special friends Roberta Omari, Sean Adjei, Best friend Bobby Blakney; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss him beyond measure.

Private cremation arrangements have already been held. But a public Memorial Service is planned for Sat. August 13th, 2022 in South Carolina (see details herein). And there is a livestream to watch, the basic information for which is posted here below with the link to watch, available/live on that day on Zoom. Please still feel free to leave condolences now herein on the Memory Wall to express your sorrow, share your memories, and as an expression of sympathy & way to communicate with/offer comfort to the family, that they and others may see, and may be a lasting tribute in his honor.

As a lasting tribute, In LIEU of flowers the family kindly instead requests a contribution may be made in his name/memory/honor to his daughter's non-profit that helps those in need - The Ultimate Force, 320 Harbison Blvd. Suite B, Columbia, SC 29212 - www.theultimateforce.org As cremation has already occurred, NO flowers should be sent to the funeral home, though you may also choose to plant a tree in his name/memory/honor as another lasting tribute, or despite the family's contribution request, possibly send flowers to the family or church.
