Obituary for Amanda B. Wilson

On Monday July 25, 2022 Amanda Wilson transitioned from this world to her eternal rest.

Amanda was born on April 24, 1962 in Fayette, AL to loving parents James Elwood Wilson and Equilla Pricilla Whiteside - Wilson

Amanda Confessed Christ as her Lord & Savior at an early age and united with Unity Grove Baptist Church in Fayette, AL.

Amanda moved to The Hill section of Spring Valley, NY with her Mom and 3 brothers in 1967 and attended school in The East Ramapo School District.

Amanda loved singing, dancing, music, fashion and hanging out with her friends. She also was very proud of her 3 brothers, Billy, Rick & Jeff who were well known local DJ's The Wilson Brothers.

Amanda's proudest moments in life came with the birth of her Daughter Tameka & Son Curtis. She also adored her grandchildren Kamar & Kamryn who made her the happiest Grand Mother in the world.

Amanda was preceded in death by her father James Elwood Wilson & brother Rickey Wilson

Amanda will forever be remembered by her loving mother Equilla Wilson - Deberry of McDonough, GA; her Daughter Tameka Blacknall; her grandson Kamar & granddaughter Kamryn of Elmsford, NY; and her son Curtis Wilson of Huntsville, AL. She is also survived by her 2 brothers Billy Wilson of New Rochelle, NY and Jeff Wilson & his wife Judith Wilson of McDonough, GA and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Amanda will also be sadly missed by her friends & family in Fayette, AL where she was born, Spring Valley, NY where she grew up and White Plains, NY where she spent most of her adult life.

ATTENTION: During the continuing COVID-19 crisis, as we slowly begin to phase back into small capacity public visitations/services, we need your help in limiting and controlling the number of people inside our funeral home, so please govern yourself accordingly for the health & safety of all. A Walk-Thru Wake/Visitation/Viewing will be held on Fri. 8/12 from 11:00-11:30AM, followed by Service 11:30AM, with a MAXIMUM CAPACITY of 80 people at funeral home at any time. So you may come to the funeral home to attend, wearing a mask. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer and sign the family register book (NOTE: please bring your own pen to sign). If not at capacity, you may have a seat; but if at capacity by the time you get here, you will be required to leave the premises after signing register book, regardless of your relationship, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, social distancing MUST be maintained at All Times (please refrain from touching/hugging/handshaking, preferably just elbow bumping briefly if at all). If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if at our capacity and/or not in compliance with any of the above. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home staff and/or cemetery personnel at all times. You MUST come to the funeral home & cemetery wearing a mask, & wear a mask inside the funeral home/social distance as much as possible at all times. If you know you have/are under quarantine because of a coronovirus/COVID-19; are sick/experiencing symptoms of/been around anyone with any type of coronovirus/COVID-19; are immuno-compromised and/or have health/other conditions that make your body more susceptible to illness, please do NOT attend any services nor come into our funeral home. Please bring & use your own pen for signing the family's register book - you are encouraged to please BRING & use your own PEN for signing. Please follow & abide by the rules of our funeral home, and directions of the funeral home staff and/or cemetery personnel at all times.
