Obituary for Gerard John "Gerry" Walsh

Following a lengthy battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) aka: Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Gerard Walsh residing in White Plains, NY, passed away on June 26, 2022 at the age of 64 years.

Gerard (Gerry) John Walsh was born to James and Dorothy Walsh in 1957.

In September 1988 he married Margaret (Maggie) Hoyt, and together raised their son, Thomas Gerard Walsh.

He received his Associates Degree and was a plumber most of his life.

Gerard liked traveling while in the Air Force and had various interests. He cherished riding his Harley Davidson, was a passionate drummer for many years, enjoyed ceramics and photography.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, his son, Thomas, and brother Jim, sister Lillian and sister Jeanette as well as numerous relatives. He will also be deeply missed by his friends at Sponsor House.

Gone but not forgotten.

Memorial Service will be July 30th, 2022 at 1pm.

Private cremation arrangements have already been held. But a public Memorial Service is planned for Sat. July 30th, 2022 (see details herein). Please still feel free to leave condolences now herein on the Memory Wall to express your sorrow, share your memories, and as an expression of sympathy & way to communicate with/offer comfort to the family, that they and others may see, and may be a lasting tribute in his honor.

As a lasting tribute, In LIEU of flowers the family kindly instead requests a contribution may be made in his name/memory/honor to the ALS Association (may be done on your own or also through the donation tab/link here in website at the bottom of this page). As cremation has already occurred, NO flowers should be sent to the funeral home, though you may also choose to plant a tree in his name/memory/honor as another lasting tribute, or despite the family's contribution request, possibly send flowers to the family or church. But a contribution in his name/memory/honor to the ALS Association is preferred in lieu of flowers. The Family Thanks You!
