Obituary for Patricia C. "Pat" Hosten (Carrington)

Patricia Hosten, of White Plains, N.Y. was called home Sunday, June 26, 2022 at age 87.

Pat was born May 13,1935 in Washington, DC to Reverend Dr. William O. Carrington and Pearl Montrose Carrington. She was a graduate of New York City Public Schools, and earned a Bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College and a Master's degree in counseling from Fordham University. Pat spent her career in education, retiring from Greenburgh Central 7 School District in 2000 as a Guidance Counselor at Woodlands High School. Some of her proudest and happiest memories were through her continued relationships with former students sharing their personal and professional journeys.

She was active at her parish Grace Episcopal Church, in White Plains for over 50 years. A great cook and baker, Pat also loved to spend time in her garden. Above all, she loved being a wife, mother, and especially a grandmother. Pat lived for her two grandchildren, and always treasured spending time with them. Both were the apple of her eye.

Pat is predeceased by her beloved husband Borah, her brother William Carrington II and her sisters Gwendolyn Simpson and Felicia Carrington. She is survived by her brother John Carrington; her loving sons Michael, Gregory and Terence (Shani); and her cherished grandchildren Taylor and Nicholas. She leaves behind nieces: Jeanette Carrington, Marlene Parker, Adrienne Wheeler and Jeanine Thomas; and nephews: Robert Simpson, Bill Carrington, Paul Hosten and Joseph Hosten. Pat will be greatly missed by her family and friends. To honor her life, family and friends will gather as further detailed below.

ATTENTION: During the continuing COVID-19 crisis, as we slowly phase back into smaller capacity public visitations/services, we need your help in limiting and controlling the number of people, so please govern yourself accordingly for the health & safety of all. Thank you so kindly!

A Walk-Thru Wake/Visitation/Viewing will be held on Wed. July 6th, 4:00PM-7:00PM at Lee's Funeral Home, LLC with a MAXIMUM CAPACITY of 80 people at funeral home at any time; and then again with final viewing Thurs. July 7th from 10:00-10:45AM at Grace Episcopal Church with limited capacity, followed by Funeral Service on Thus. 7/7 at 11:00AM at Grace Episcopal Church (but the church will be live-streaming the service on Thurs., also available on our website where it says WATCH WEBCAST, so you're able to view there/here on Thurs. also/instead). So you may come to the funeral home to attend, wearing a mask. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer and sign the family register book (NOTE: please bring your own pen to sign). If not at capacity, you may have a seat, being mindful of others & the nature of the time to allow for the most guests to enter/pay respects; but if at capacity by the time you get here, you will be required to leave the premises after signing register book, regardless of your relationship, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, social distancing MUST be maintained at All Times (please refrain from touching/hugging/handshaking, preferably just elbow bumping briefly if at all). If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if either is at their restricted capacity. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home staff and/or church or cemetery personnel at all times. We Thank You in advance for following directions & any policies, so as to make all go smoothly the day of the services, to eliminate further burden on the family, and to maintain the health & safety of All. Any questions, or if any clarity is needed, please call ahead to the funeral home and/or church, and/or speak to us from a safe distance if present.
