Obituary for Rena Mae Browne (Brailsford)

Rena Mae Browne 96 of White Plains, NY passed away peacefully on May 10, 2021. Born May 12, 1924 in Summerton, S.C. To Charlotte Regan and Gus Robert Brailsford. She was one of eight siblings. Her early childhood was spent in Summerton, S.C. where she attended public school in Clarendon County. At an early age she joined Liberty Hill AME Church in Summerton, S.C. before re-locating to Baltimore MD.

Rena met and married the late Eldred G. Browne in Baltimore MD. And later moved to Kansas City, Kansas. While in Kansas she attended the 8th Street Baptist Church, she later move to Wingdale, N.Y.
Where she found employment at the Harlen Valley Psychiatric Hospital in Wingdale as a nurse.

She later joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Stormville, N.Y. where the late Rev. Walter R. Hall, Pastor
She was a dedicated member of the Deaconess Board, the Missionary Society, Womens United, Goden Age and the Culinary Ministry.
Rena had a passion for cooking as well as sewing and was good at both.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her caregivers niece & nephew Betty & James Dyson, a host of nephews , nieces and friends.
