Obituary for Rosebud "Rose" Darden (Williams)

Rosebud Williams Darden was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on February 6, 1943 to the late Minnie Caine Williams and Reverend Lawrence Williams, Jr. She transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home on April 28, 2021 at White Plains Hospital.

Rose's family migrated to New York when she was a young child. She began and completed her education in White Plains Public Schools. Rose accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church.

Rose began her career at the United States Post Office in the early 1970's. She continued working in her position in the Registry until her recent illness. Rose enjoyed her job and created lasting friendships with many of the people she came into contact with at work.

Rose loved to travel. Some of her best times were spent cruising and vacationing with her family in Florida.

Rosebud had a beautiful smile. Her laughter came from her soul. She had so much joy and it touched everyone around her. She brought out the best in people and they loved her. Rose was a special lady whose shoes will never be filled. We will miss her.

Rose was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Larry E. Williams; three sisters, Gloria Alston, Barbara Williams and Shirley Osborne; and her grandson Matthieu Saintil.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Denise Saintil and Sonya Darden; one grandson, Stephen Barker; two granddaughters Cheyenne Prashad and Aiyana Saintil; two sisters, Phyllis Mack and Kathy Williams; three Aunts, Annie Rogers (Alvin) , Estelle Holt, Rose Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

ATTENTION: During the continuing COVID-19 crisis, as we slowly begin to phase back into small capacity public visitations/services, we need your help in limiting and controlling the number of people inside the church, so please govern yourself accordingly for the health & safety of all. Thank you so kindly!

A Visitation will be held on Fri., 5/7 from 10:00-11:00AM for a more General Walk-Thru; the family's Wake will be 11:00-:11:45AM with limited seating due to COVID restrictions, but continued opportunity to walk-thru & leave; Funeral 12:00noon. But the church is live-streaming the service on ZOOM, also available on our website where it says WATCH VIDEO, so you're able to view there/here also/instead, as there is LIMITED seating until the church is at their CAPACITY based on COVID restrictions & required social distancing (& it's preferred you have preregistered with the church so you're on their attendee list). So you may come to the church to try to attend, with your masks on. At the very least you can get hand sanitizer & sign the register book (NOTE: please feel free to bring your own pen). If not at capacity, you will be allowed in to have a seat; but if at capacity by the time you get there, you may be required to leave the premises after signing register book, so as not to be in violation nor cause a health hazard, so please govern yourself accordingly. Regardless of if you're able to enter/be seated, or not, social distancing MUST be maintained inside & outside at ALL times (NO touching/hugging/handshaking, ONLY elbow bumping briefly if at all). If instructed, PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY leave the building & premises if the church is at their restricted capacity. PLEASE KINDLY RESPECTFULLY follow & abide by the directions of the funeral home staff and/or church or cemetery personnel at all times. We Thank You in advance for following directions & NYS law, so as to make all go smoothly the day of the services, to eliminate further burden on the family, and to maintain the health & safety of All. Any questions, or if any clarity is needed, please call ahead to the funeral home and/or church, and/or speak to us from a safe distance if present.
