Obituary for the Late Rev. Daphne Theresa Allen
December 30, 1937 – May 30, 2020

The beautiful Daphne Theresa Wong was born on December 30, 1937 in the parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica to Lydia Harris and Jacob Wong. She gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of 8 years old. She was a member of The Assemblies of The First Born. When she was young, the talented Daphne Theresa Wong was known for her phenomenal cake baking abilities and was sought after by many to make their wedding cakes. She worked for O So Great Soda Factory in Kingston and other various companies. She worked with the young people of her church and also was involved with child evangelism.

It was through this evangelistic work that the then Daphne Theresa Wong met the very handsome and charismatic late Dr. Bishop Stanley George Allen then known as just Brother Allen whom she later married. This union brought forth 4 children, the late Dave Anthony Allen, the late Laurie Ann Allen, Andrea Allen and Deirdre Jenkins. They were together for 57 years before the Lord saw fit to take his servant. She migrated to the United States with her family in the late 70s and lived in various parts of White Plains. In the business arena, Daphne Allen was involved with banking, residential real estate, and co-op management.

The Late Rev. Daphne Theresa Allen Stood alongside the Late Dr. Bishop Stanley George
Allen as a first lady at the Church in Santa Hill in Spauldings, Jamaica then at the Church of The First Born on Kensico Avenue in White Plains under the new Pastor Bishop Canute Cohen took over the reins, and later the Church in Rye, NY. She once again took on that role when the Late Dr. Bishop Stanley George Allen founded the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church. In the inception, it began as a small prayer group in the living room of their then residence at 176 Orawaupum Street in White Plains. Some years later, they occupied space at the St. Matthews Lutheran Church in White Plains, New York where they stayed for many years. Soon an opportunity arose for the church group to have their own building in 1991.

After the passing of the late Dr. Bishop Stanley George Allen, Rev. Daphne Allen dutifully took on the role of Pastor of this great work until her passing on May 30, 2020. She was a virtuous woman, wonderful mother and devoted woman of God. She leaves behind daughters: Andrea Allen, Deirdre Jenkins, brother Trevor Wong, sisters: Barbara Wong, Joyce Green, & Gloria Elliot. Grandchildren: Alexa, Hope, Karson, Christian and Son-in-Law Randy Jenkins and a whole host of nieces & nephews too numerous to count. God bless you, rest in peace in the arms of your God.
