Barbara Jeannette Fisher, 86, of Tuckahoe, NY, better known as Grammy, transitioned on April 15, 2020 in Bronxville, NY from a brief illness. She was born on May 24, 1933 to Marjorie and Whalen Hayes. She was the eldest and only girl of 5 siblings in the Hayes family. She married the love of her life, William Warren Fisher, of Greenburgh in 1957 who predeceased her. From this union, she birthed two daughters, Wendy Reneé Wise and Regina Jeannette Slocombe.
Barbara worked at Reader’s Digest for 35 years until she retired and went on to work for the Tuckahoe Union Free School District. She was a dedicated member of Narrow Way Gospel Assembly, where she was a Deacon, missionary and devoted member.
She is survived by her daughters Wendy and Regina; three grandchildren: Lyndsey Barr, Morgan Slocombe and Dishon Wise. She is also survived by her brother William P. Hayes Sr. She is predeceased by her brothers Whalen Hayes, Ernest Miller and Charles Hayes.
