Obituary for Larry Eugene "Moose" Murriel

Larry Eugene Murriel

Larry (Moose) Eugene Murriel was born June 22, 1952 in Inman, South Carolina to the late Raymond Clifton Murriel, Sr. and Masie C. Murriel. Larry departed this life on April 5, 2020.

Larry graduated from White Plains High School, where he played football (and was All County) in 1970. He graduated Wilberforce University, in Wilberforce, Ohio in 1974. He pledged Kappa Alpha Psi and was a Business Major.

Larry worked in sales for years, which was really his forte. He had the gift of gab like none other.

Larry retired in 2017, after twenty years of service for Southern Westchester BOCES. He was dedicated to the special needs students he served.

Larry was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Raymond Murriel; two sisters, Patricia Murriel and Doris Miller; and his parents-in-law Julia and the Reverend J. Metz Rollins Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Rose Rollins-Murriel, four sons (his pride) Julian A. Murriel, Ryan L. Murriel, Dwayne Ware and Keith Walker; his amazing granddaughters, Teryna, Ania, Sydney, Nydia and Kyra; his two loving sisters, Sandra Murriel, and Penny Leggett (Todd) and brother Eddie Murriel; his brother-in-law, Joseph M. Rollins,111; nieces Tiffany Murriel, Bria Smith (Brent), Bailey Rollins and nephews, Tyme Murriel and Andrew Rollins; and a host of cousins, great-nieces and -nephews.
