Obituary for Ruby E. Green (Greene)

Ruby E. Green was born in Sheldon, South Carolina on September 15, 1931 to the late George and Virginia Greene. Ruby entered Heaven’s gates suddenly on January 11, 2020, after a brief illness. She began school in Sheldon, South Carolina (Beaufort County) before relocating to Tuskegee, Alabama as a teen, where she completed her education.

After graduation Ruby migrated to White Plains, New York and lived with her brother Herbert E. Greene and sister-in-law Florence. She met and married Marshall L. Green, brother of Florence. After marriage, Ruby began her working career. She worked at Sonotone Hearing Aid Center, and Abraham & Straus for several years, retiring from Abraham & Straus. Ruby was an avid Baseball fan, her favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets. She loved to read, Cross Word Puzzles, and Search Word Puzzles. Ruby loved to sing and enjoyed life. She also loved flowers and gardening, watching things grow from scratch.

Ruby’s religious experiences were received from Messiah Baptist Church in Yonkers, NY and St. Matthews Baptist Church in Kenbridge, Va. On May 3, 2009, Ruby renewed her membership with Bethel Baptist Church, under the Pastorate of Dr. Edward O. Williamson upon her Christian Experience.
