Dion Jamaal Bridgers 38, of White Plains, NY departed this life on December 23rd, 2018 in Clayton County, Georgia.

He was born in Norfolk, Virginia to parents Yusef and Sharon Muhammad. He moved to White Plains, NY at an early age. He attended the White Plains School system and graduated from Ramapo High School in 1998. In his pursuit of higher education, he attended Mercy College NY, Clark-Atlanta University and S.U.N.Y.-Purchase College. He played many sports but his favorite was Basketball and he played it well. Whether in Westchester, Rockland or the 5 Boroughs, Dion was not only known for his basketball acumen, but also for his bridging the community of “Ballers” and spectators alike with his voice commentating, attractive personality and his playlist! Dion worked in the Greenburgh Central School District as a teacher’s assistant and coach. He also enjoyed serving the community as a manager for the Pick n Roll Restaurant and Lounge. His passion was being the founder and visionary, along with his brothers, of LASLAF Inc., an independent and inspirational multi-faceted production company. He loved the youth and devoted his life to teaching and guiding them. Dion always said, “the best teacher is your example”.

Dion was married to Taheera Bilal in 2011. They were blessed with 2 children: Blessing Nia and Lamar, who Dion affectionately referred to as his “SUN.”

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife & children; his parents Yusef & Sharon Muhammad of Virginia Beach, VA; his in-laws Hassan & Gail Bilal of Greenburgh, NY; two brothers: Tyrell Bridgers (Camille) & Taj Bridgers both of White Plains, NY; Grandparents Albert & Juanita Rice of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers-in-law: Hassan Bilal (Simone) of Stamford, CT; Rashad Bilal of White Plains, NY; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
