Condolence: I was first introduced to Dr. Olivia J. Hooker through an African American historical site on Facebook and have enjoyed what I read of this phenomenal woman. She's most recognized as the 1st African American woman in the US Coast Guard and a survivor of the Tulsa Race Riots, but I would like to learn of her work as a child and school psychologist. Thank you Dr. Olivia J. Hooker for the richness of life you shared and the perseverance to continue through the storm. You were / are loved by many. Elizabeth Singletary, Washington DC

Condolence From: Elizabeth Singletary, Washington DC
Condolence: It was an honor to have learned of such a great trailblazer. There wasn't much information available about Dr. Hooker's psychological work for children with disabilities, but I'm thankful for her efforts in that area. Children with disabilities have many challenges and what I recently learned of Dr. Hooker, she made those obstacles stepping stones. I'm sure there's so much more about Dr. Hooker the public is unaware of, but for those who knew her personally, their lives have been enriched. May Dr. Olivia J. Hooker Rest in the peaceful arms of our Savior Jesus Christ.
