Bertha (Bonnie) Dessaure Bannister of North White Plains, NY, died Dec. 29, 2017 at the Martine Nursing Home in White Plains, NY after a long illness.

Bertha was born April 17, 1946 in North White Plains to Frank and Pernell Glover Dessaure. She was the youngest of eight children.

She went to schools in Valhalla, NY, and to Beauty Culture School in NYC, and became a beautician and hair stylist.

Bertha owned the Bonnie’s Place Of Hair in North White Plains.

Bertha was married to Carl Bannister, and from this union she has 3 sons: Carl, of New Hampshire, Tyrone (Katrina), of Yonkers, NY, and Jerome Bannister, of Las Vegas, Nev. She has 8 grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her 3 sons; 1 brother Louis Jay Dessaure ( Silence), of Brewster NY; 3 sisters: Frances Thomas , of Spring Valley, NY, Ida Hydrick, of Long Island NY, and Carolyne Williams (Leroy) of Liberty NY, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bertha was predeceased by 1 sister Rose Lee Gray, and 2 brothers James and Chris Dessaure.
