Estelle Ervine Johnson was born in Orange, Virginia on March 21, 1921, to Alex and Maude Humes Johnson. She attended the local schools and graduated from high school in Virginia.
After migrating to New York, she worked for private families in Scarsdale, NY. A long time White Plains resident, she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Sneed. Estelle was well known and liked. She appreciated life itself, and never complained about her situation in life. She generously gave a helping hand, not looking for anything in return, whether opening up her home to those in need, giving money, etc.
Estelle departed this life peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2015 after a long illness. Left to survive and cherish her memory are two sisters in White Plains, Delores Gaynor and Hildegarde Moore, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
