Condolence: Having just read the obituary for Albert E. Williams I must offer my thoughts on this incredible mentor. Mr. Williams was as kind and nurturing a teacher as you could ever hope for, and a great musician. He also imparted life lessons on a regular basis that have guided me, and others throughout our lives. He set a standard for musicianship, as well as behavior and actions, clearly guided by his faith and experiences, that set him apart from others as an example and an inspiration. So many days I think of things he taught us, ideals that I use as a music teacher myself, and lessons I try to live by. Our earth lost a great man on September 22.

Condolence: To the family of Mr Williams. I just received the e mail link from Jayne Chapman Marra. Mr Williams was a wonderful teacher and human being. He made band a safe haven for everyone, while fostering a life-long love of music. He will never know how much I appreciated all that he did for me as an awkward teenager in middle school through my senior year in high school (1978). He taught us more than just how to make good music. He taught us to be good human beings and he lead by example. Every time I bake I a lemon meringue pie, I think of him. (He told me that was his favorite and I baked one for the trimming of the band room Christmas tree party. (Probably not so PC these days, but perfectly acceptable back then.) I think of him often. I hope you get these messages.

Condolence: Dear family of Albert Williams; I was a high school student of his, graduating in 1975. I thought of him today, out of the blue and googled his name. I am saddened to learn of his passing but have always remembered the gifts he shared. Music, dignity, hard work and many other wonderful life lessons were always shared from his podium. I picked up my French horn a number of years ago after not touching it in over 27 years, he was my first horn teacher. Mr. Williams was a true gift to me and to Rye Neck High School. My sincere condolences and prays to the family.
