Obituary for Wayne Emerson Thomas

Mr. Wayne Emerson Thomas, 69, departed this life on Friday, November 3, 2017, at his home in Yonkers, New York. Wayne was born at St. Agnes Hospital, on November 13, 1947 in White Plains, New York, the third oldest son of the late Lowell M. Thomas, Sr. and Eunice M. Hawkes-Thomas, who were life-long, Greenburgh residents.

Wayne was educated in the Town of Greenburgh public school system; Graduating from Woodlands High School, he went on to attend: The University of New York at Cobleskill, Union University in Richmond, Virginia and Bard College, Annandale-on- Hudson, New York. He was a protégé of the late, Dorothy Allensworth, founder of College Careers of Westchester, White Plains, N.Y.

Wayne will be missed by his family and friends and those whose lives he touched. Wayne is survived by: his daughter, Arwen Thomas-Belloni and her husband Benjamin of Salem, New York; his son, Miles E. Thomas and his wife, Hannah, of Kansas City, Kansas; four grandsons, Hason, Jaelen, Tafari and Golden; and two granddaughters, Taylor and Kassie; two sisters, Blanche Brown of White Plains, N.Y. and Cynthia R. Thomas of Philadelphia, PA; three brothers, William J. Thomas (wife, Rochelle), Fort Lee, Florida, Dwight A. Thomas (wife, Veida), and Stanton I. Thomas (wife, Regenia); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were: his sister, Nanette Y. Thomas- Young; two brothers, Lowell Thomas, Jr. and Kenneth M. Thomas.
