Kenneth (Ken) Charles Davis, 65, of Rye, NY entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Greenwich Hospital in CT. He was born on November 18, 1951, son of the late Voncile Davis and Kenneth Davis.
Ken received his early education from the Rye Public School System. After graduating from Rye High School, he matriculated at Bowie State College (University today) where he received his B.S. degree in Computer Science. There he became a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. Ken also worked at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center while earning his degree.
Upon the death of his father, Ken returned to Rye to oversee the care of his mother.
Ken worked for Kraft General Foods, Avon Products Inc., Diversified Investment Advisors and also set up his own corporation, Davis Systems Unlimited Inc. for computer consulting services. Prior to retiring, Ken was employed at Stop & Shop as General Manager.
Ken enjoyed bowling and loved taking ski trips with his daughter. He was a longtime member of the Skiing Plus Ski Club of Westchester.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Keenia C. Davis of Washington, DC; devoted cousins: Lindsey Smith Jr. (Linda) of New Jersey, Leanice Tyler of South Carolina, Gary Barker of New York; and Diana Dickson of CT (companion & caregiver), and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Service to be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM, Lee’s Funeral Home, 160 Fisher Avenue, White Plains, NY. Family will receive guests from 11:00 AM till the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at White Plains Rural Cemetery.
