Obituary for Florence G. Tinnin (Brown)

Florence “Flo” Geneva Tinnin entered into this world on January 1, 1941 in Summerton, South Carolina to the late John and Eliza Brown. She moved to White Plains, NY at an early age and was educated in the White Plains School System.

Florence was last employed by the Garden State Parkway Tolls until she resigned in 1997. She accepted Christ at an early age when she joined Mount Hope A.M.E. Zion Church. She was joined in Holy Matrimony in 1958 to the late Charles Tinnin.

Flo loved to travel, especially to Summerton S.C., ''back home'' as she would call it, with her brothers and sisters for any occasion; summers, birthdays, and holidays. She loved to be around family. Cooking was something Flo enjoyed and was very good at it.

Florence will forever be remembered for her witty attitude, stylish way of dressing, great personality, and the love she had for her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters: Sharon Robinson (Philadelphia, PA); Donna McCoy (David), Belleville NJ; Tammy Banks (Yonkers, NY); 9 Grandchildren: Chadya and Chanyse Robinson, Leche McCray, Alexis Rashad, Letyka Neal (Ellis), Tania Leak, Timothy Leak, Tamika Banks, Tayshawn Banks; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Siblings: Ellen Pearson, Woodrow Brown Jr, Catherine Jones, Quincy Brown, Fred Brown, and Their Spouses; Cousin but more like a sister Henrietta Benjamin, Betty Dyson, James Dyson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.

She was predeceased by husband Charles Tinnin, granddaughter Katrice Coram, Sister Mary Daisy Richardson, Mother Rosa Brown.
