Obituary for Marshall L. Green

Marshall L. Green
Marshall L. Green, who was a resident of White Plains, NY, departed this life on Friday, December 4, 2015, at the age of 84 years old. Marshall was born in Amelia County, VA to the late Leroy and Lovinia (Marshall) Green.

Marshall attended the Luther H. Foster High School of Nottoway County, VA and graduated in 1950. After graduation, he relocated to White Plains, NY. On April 28, 1956, Marshall met and joined wedlock with Ruby Greene. He was always a kind hearted, great natured, easy-going man of God, who loved cooking and watching sports. He was an extremely loving husband, brother, and you couldn’t find a more wonderful father.

Marshall’s religious experiences were received from Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Amelia, VA and Messiah Baptist Church in Yonkers, NY. On December 18, 1994, he became an ordained Deacon at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Kenbridge, VA.

Not only was Marshall a wonderful man, he also served his country proudly for a term in the U.S Air Force and was honorably discharged. During his time in the Air Force he saw action in the Korean War. He was also awarded a United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.

Marshall leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Ruby Green; one daughter, Cheryl Green of White Plains, NY; three sons, Robert Green of White Plains, NY, Gerald Green of Charlotte, NC and Marshall Green JR. of Columbia, MO; one sister, Florence Greene of White Plains, NY; and one brother, Pleasant Green of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Raven, Ronald, and Rosalind; two great-grandchildren, Persia and Alani; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Marshall was predeceased by his parents Leroy and Lovinia Green; siblings Elizabeth and William; and son Ronald.

Dad, you will be truly missed so rest in peace until we meet again.
