Obituary for Amanda B. Gallimore

“1921-2015”

Amanda Beatrice Gallimore was born on November 12, 1921 in McKenny, Virginia. A few years after her mother died, the family moved to Sag Harbor, Long Island, where she graduated from Pierson high school. After 28 years of dedicated service to B.O.C.E.S. in Southern Westchester, Valhalla, NY, she retired.

Amanda united with Bethel Baptist Church on January 17, 1988, under the Pastorate of Rev. Louis H. Wade, where she remained until her health failed her and she could no longer attend church services. She was a faithful and dedicated member.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Collins of Mt. Vernon, New York; one son, Charles Gallimore of White Plains, New York; one sister, Lena Harris of Riverhead, New York; four grand children, Tony, Tracey, Renee and Chanel; four great grand’s, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; also, a good friend, Doris Robinson of Florida.

Amanda’s husband Cyrenius Gallimore passed in 1996; also, three sisters: Mary Jackson, Rose Lindsey, and Ethel Good; three brothers: John Fields, George Fields and Lawrence Fields. She sorely will be missed by all.
